Jazzy

Jazzy

A Poem by Andrea Greene
"

I have an entire friend, that's impressive

"
She's like symphonies and fireworks and beaches at sunset
Everything about her is just so filled with life and joy
She moves me to be happier, and never fails
Even if she doesn't try

So when I saw her crying, it broke my heart.
And I'll stop trying to be indirect, she'll read it at some point.

Even though I really, really don't need to,
I forgive you.
I know we all do, and nobody is free from mistakes.

But another thing I know is that I would fall apart without you.
You keep me sane and happy and almost as exuberant as you,
Though I doubt that's possible.
Even in your quiet moments, you still look like you have sunshine under your skin
And a song in your head, and it makes the world a better place, I know it.

So I don't know what else to say to get the summery light back into your eyes,
But you are one of my best friends, please remember that.
