IgnorantA Poem by Andrea GreeneI can't
I thought I took it upon myself to listen.
I did and I didn't, all at the same time. And now there's multiple voices calling all for help but that's unimportant Just absorb it, take care of it all Settle the storm before you're lost in it So I guess this is an overdue apology. For never shutting up when I need to For always talking about my crush For everything else that goes unsaid And I couldn't breathe when I saw what you wrote Because I thought everything was fine But it isn't, it really isn't, And none of us are fine. God, it's times like this when I wish we were younger. We were so hung up on petty problems We didn't even look up at the avalanche ahead of us And now we're drowned in isolation and ignorance Or writing s****y poetry to try and explain things and make things okay So, I'll leave it like I always have to leave it If there's anything I can do, let me know. If I can change, let me. © 2018 Andrea GreeneAuthor's Note
