No, he wouldn't.

No, he wouldn't.

A Chapter by isabel, the lonely genius.

“Baby, you simply blow my mind away, wanting to love you all night and day…” Danielle hummed softly under her breath, bobbing her head to a beat. Her head rested in her hand, other hand gripping a pen and her album was nearly completed. It would have been shipping worldwide by now, if Jimmy didn’t insist Danielle on finding somebody to feature on her lead single. “But Jimmy…” Danielle whined. “No, Dan. First single coming off you has to be a collab. You don’t wanna release all your other ones, so get another person on this track.”

Unpredictable; that was the title of the record, a mixture of genres, lyrics and meanings. Danielle, an R&B artist, already has a rather successful career under her belt: Three records and 60 million sold worldwide, a couple of Grammys, a dozen VMAs and a handful of American Music Awards. There isn’t anything she hasn’t tried. So Unpredictable had to be out of this world. She went home with the question “But who?” repeating itself, on top of her worries about the album not being finished on time when a specific date for shipment has already been put in place. “C’mon, Danielle, think!”

She decided to listen to the radio to see whether it would remind her of anyone. Stuck in LA traffic, at 6:58pm, she tuned to the nearest radio station there was in her Benz. The highway was moving slowly and Danielle shifted forward. “Alright, y’all, we’ve got a very special guest coming up. He hasn’t been here for a while and now he’s back with some very exclusive news at 7 sharp, only here on Shade 45!” the radio host exclaimed with excitement. “Shade 45?” she whispered to herself “Where have I heard that before?” She wasn’t gonna get out of this highway anytime soon so she decided to make herself comfortable and just kick back. “He’s here, y’all! I want y’all, wherever you are, East Coast, West Coast, Down South… Make some motherfucking noise for the man that is… Eminem!” Shade 45’s host said. “Ayo…” there was a reply. The voice was quite deep, subtle, yet southing. It could only have been Slim Shady. “What about him?” Danielle’s conscience asked. “Him?” she replied out loud, thinking somebody had just asked her the question. She hunched over to lean on the steering wheel, still considering the suggestion of Eminem featuring on her lead single. Danielle murmured in doubt, repeating “No, no, he wouldn’t.” She figured it would’ve been silly for someone that different to her to work with her. She shook her head in denial. “No, he wouldn’t,” she repeated.
