A Strange Fish

A Strange Fish

A Poem by Sean Eddingfield
"

Have you ever known a moment in time when everything else seems to fade away... and you just enjoy that moment. You want it to last, but it fades quickly.

"

In the hurry and bustle

there suddenly came a moment

that made me aware...

There was old music

and strange auburn light

and a splash of emotion

like cold water

from an ocean so deep...

and as I passed thru

to the world above,

I saw a poem

like a strange fish...

just a glimpse...

breath running out...

I missed it.

And now on the surface

left only with this.

And yet...

happy.

Yes, those moments are irreplaceable and you write that perfectly. The lines: "There was old music
and strange auburn light
and a splash of emotion
like cold water
from an ocean so deep..." are just stunning and breathtaking. Loved this piece.

Golden moments indeed. I have them quite often with my grandson. Especially when he laughs. A wonderful treat. Being untroubled is a grand feeling is it not? Good write.
