SixteenA Poem by Katherine M.A poem I wrote for schoolIt’s hard to say what I miss the most, But the closest thing I can think of is what never was. Music blaring, giddy looks, Knowing your decision is stupid and making it anyways. Crying of laughter, ice cream in every flavor, Riding bikes at sunset. Yelling in the hallways, trying on sunglasses, Going to Yogurtland after dance class. Popcorn, beach, movies, pools, Shivering, fears, sweating, tears. Everything that 16 should be. It ended up being a blue mask. Isolation. Online school. Another mask. No one to talk to. Sadness. Glitching screens. A pile of blue masks. I would say I want to be 16 again but I never was. © 2021 Katherine M.Reviews
