How Beautiful the Stars

How Beautiful the Stars

A Poem by J. Land

How beautiful the stars
Rising upward through Heaven’s studded door
Glimpsing sublime creation’s endlessness before
Falling back into a darkened landscape folded
In shadows driven mad by dawn’s gilded light

The eye absorbs their twinkling brilliance
Stores it in dreams softly singing
A nightsong, elegaic and affirming
The soul lingering in its nights
Ardent for the bonfire hidden
Behind this veil of burning embers

"The soul lingering in the night, ardent for the hidden bonfire"- yes the lonely spirit skulks iñ the night trying to find the depth of his own soul.. The first stanza with its marvellous description stands elagantly. With stars described as twinkling embers in the world of dark. It males the reader think how lonely the stars are. A poem full of vivid imagery. Well done. You always have a way of describing the scenic charm

It's very refreshing to see such a vivid piece about the night sky. I've always found the sky to be a fascinating creation. I could like on the ground and stare at it all day if I wasn't glued to my computer. There was emotion in the words used to describe the beauty of the stars. Very well done. Thank you for sharing.
