NarcoA Poem by J. LandFree verse ranting. What have they taken, these men? They and their inhuman pursuits Let blood seep through the seams of humanity Or shred its last remnants for want of Greed and Power. Bullets and baseball bats strike, Hard blunt instruments of coercion While fear remains Their hardest weapon to dodge. "Intimidate and Desecrate" is their motto. They take what is given when Needles fill the veins of the broken and Papers rolled smoothly tight Brand the heart with an "A" Scarlet once, now blackened. The euphoria of pills and powders Trades itself for a hook At the end of a chain, Long and unbreakable Which binds the soul and taunts it with the key. What have they taken, these men? The point of the needle, The spark of the joint, The rush of the powder and pill, The end of the chain. And they pull, pull, pull Laughing the laugh of a Power that tugs its victims Into a pit with a link Wrapped round its leg.
