Stuck

Stuck

A Poem by J. Land
"

Writer's block kills.

"

Here I am
Stuck in a chair
Unable to move
Staring at a screen
Waiting for the Muses
To grace my words with meaning

All too often left unsaid
Ideas bury themselves like frogs
Waiting for the rains to come
Then rise up and spawn
Meaningful resonant truths
But the rains are few
And the drought is long

Ahh yes writers block!!!!!
Don't write when it comes.... or write anything and everything till it goes away!

As Charles Bukowski says,
if it doesn't come bursting out of you
in spite of everything,
don't do it.
unless it comes unasked out of your
heart and your mind and your mouth
and your gut,
don't do it.
if you have to sit for hours
staring at your computer screen
or hunched over your
typewriter
searching for words,
don't do it.

Your in writers cramp stuck between lines are the words you really mean the words won't come today so rest a shore they shall appear tomorrow when muse wakes up and recovers from writers hangover.

Oh the irony I was sitiing at a chair not even concious if I wanted to move while I read the first paragraph then I thought how strange to be waiting for inspiration rather than ""go get it" type of attitude. But then idea developing that something receeds where it is left untouched only revived by the right for of inpiration that's a tougher prposition as developing onself is hard. Well you are not alone in that desert I think if you look back I am not far behind.

I like what Fatum commented. If it doesn't come bursting out of you....You have captured the sense of writers block though. Little 'idea frogs'... nestled shallow in the soil, have faith and pray for rain, jude

There all you writers go again. Blaming me for being stuck in the muck. ;)

You are correct, inspiration is like rain. When there is a drought, it makes Writer's Block feel like forever.

No doubt. When you come, though, it's bliss.
