What We Forget

What We Forget

A Poem by theking

So drawn by the affairs of men and gods
humanity is, does this resonate well?
Do we spare glances with lives, and lives with morals?
This precipice we stand on urges us to jump
To leap further into a chasm of malice
To propel ourselves one and forever into an irreversible mistake
The mistake of hatred, did we already make?
Or is the world embracing us, hoping to draw us back.

FIRST IMPRESSION

1. I enjoyed the length of the poem. This impression attracts my attention more because I admire a writer who can say much with a few words.

GOOD THINGS: The Unbiased Review

1. The poem is simplistic. Therefore, the reader is able to digest and interpret it much better.

2. The quality of it has not reduced. At times, sometimes you have to think "quality over quantity."

3. The Christian theme of the poem proves altruism does exist within you.

4. "What we Forget" reminds us of the harmony between humanity and God.

QUOTE DISSECTION

(1) "So drawn by the affairs of men and gods
humanity is, does this resonate well?"

From a literal standpoint, this could be identified as the "affairs" of humanity. For instance, the "Wretched Institutions" in Sociology. (I apologize for generalizing :(

1. Politics
2. Religion
3. Media
4. Family
5. Government
6. Education
7. Business

I would like to clarify that this is an example rather than a narrow point of view.

In addition, I would also like to bring in religion into the mix since I can tell that you are devoted to your faith.

The affairs of "Gods" include the following examples:

1. Buddhism
2. Hinduism
3. Islam
4. Judaism
5. Christianity
6. Paganism

Let me clarify that these are just a few examples of other religions.

Overall, I thought that the short poem was excellent! I enjoyed the sincerity of your voice!

love,
ria
