No Worth (Film Version)

"
All the colours have turned to black
I remember so fondly the times when they were grey
All I have left is the scars and the bruises
I can no longer feel your touch

Yet I would suffer every single blow again, just to feel something
But you slammed the door and blew out the candles
Now no matter how much I wish,
nothing left this dark can ever reflect again

But I cannot let death be my final failure
So I turn to you God and religion
I pass you my blame and responsibility
So that I can be a victim still, even in death

For it was never the darkness that twisted this soul
Is was the light it allowed me to see but never touch
Teasing me, tourmenting me
Showing me what I am not worthy of holding

Now even those flames have died
All light vanquished by the smoother of darkness
Forcing the colours to fade to black
Leaving me longing for the times when they were grey

The hatred I had for the world
I now force upon myself and inject into my veins
Sweet calm wash away this thick sludge
The remanants of a congealed and rotted soul

Sweet serentiy, sweep away this lifless corpse
Please, let me drift away in peace
All the colours have turned to black
I remember so fondly the times when they were grey

We get into that comfortable "victim" mind frame and, even though they have holes in the toes and they stink to high heaven, we would rather wear those old shoes because everything else, everything shiny and new, pinches our toes and leaves fresh blisters. Better the devil you know, sometimes. Incredible work. Thank you for sharing this with us.
