The Candle FlameA Poem by Mark Anthony Games (Human Voice)
I am just a candle,
This heart withering and burning like a wick. This skin surround like wax slowly melting With lack of choice but to contain the flame How can this flame be spread to light fires When the world has turned fire retardant All the people have become fire extinguishers I am just a candle burning in the brightest of rooms All that I hoped to be, all the hunger that lit the flame Hangs as stalactites from the fixtures and furnishings of life I am just a candle slowly burning, slowly melting I am just a candle burning in the brightest of rooms Human Voice 2012
