Why me,

What have I done to deserve this

Nothing good happens to me

Life sucks, I hate you!

Thunder struck and ripped my soul

Then the words flooded through

Seeping from the cracks in my denial

The world never stops turning

Yet you stand still
Life is a room full of people so why hide in the corner

There are over a billion souls in this world
Strangers question who you are, thus challenging
Friends just confirm who you are, Thus restricting

You are the words you speak
You are the thoughts you think
You are your life

If you expect everything
You limit what you recieve
Because you will only recieve what you have conceived

If you expect nothing
You recieve everything
Because in nothingness is everything not yet conceived

You can blame life for everything
You can search the world for change
Only if you become the change will change happen

Because I am the thoughts I think
Because I am the words I speak
Because I am my life

Oh my gosh, I really really love the lines

Thank you very much, this is one of the pieces I am proud off. Wrote it a couple of years back and have been trying to act upon the words myself. Thank you for taking the time to review, it meas a lot.

It's really good, and has some good advice within it. I had already learnt that expectations should be low, but it's comforting to know that others think the same and that maybe you are going about things the right way after all. The comment about 'a billion souls' also mad me stop to think that maybe I should be more proud of who I am as there are so many people that if someone doesn't like it they have another billion to choose from, I have another billion to choose from. All round great advice. And no worries, if I really enjoy reading a poem I will always review it :) x
