Depression

Trapped, suppressed, lost and confused

Ignored, ridiculed, slandered and abused

Useless, pointless, meaningless and defeated

Lifeless, invisible, abandoned and cheated

Insecure, vulnerable, desperate and rotten with pride

Misunderstood, unwanted, unloved and cast aside

Ugly, unattractive, lonely, paranoid and insane

Suffocated, angry, vengeful, broken and destroyed by pain

Frustrated, powerless, exhausted, weak and idle

Ashamed, disillusioned, worthless, faithless and suicidal

Ignorant, foolish, pathetic, fearful and terrified

So much suffering caused by all the emotions i had to hide

The denial makes it so much worse so here is my confession

All these emotions are just the surface of my depression

They skim the top of my depression as well. Usually when people say you need to cheer up. If empathy helps you have it.
The people who say Depression is beautiful have got it wrong. The people who say that Depressives can be beautiful have got it right.

More than any other work I have done, this was a moment captured that actually lasted years. Well thank you again sir, I am quite proud of this one. Was written in about 25 seconds of sheer anguish when I was around 16/17. My life had snapped, family abandoned me and I was hitting the streets. I am at the moment designing some performance poetry and have crafted this in to a peice about the breakdown of society values, got a 9 year old girl to speak some of these lines, made me sudder to think I could write lines that seemed so powerful. I plan to upload to you tube in March/ april.

Yeah that was my thinking, the climax of the peace is a demonstration rally with John Farnhams 'One Voice' song playing. It took me a long time to recover from my youth. I did not start facing my demons until I was 23. If we do not take the chance to move on then we are just allowing long ago abuse to continue to victimize us. Chose life or chose existence, acceptance is painless but getting there is agony

for sure, and 23 is young to start dealing with that crap... I think I was 28 and I know many who managed to hold it off until their 30s... we all wish we could get our 20s back... so bravo to you...
