Heartbreak Leaning Post

Heartbreak Leaning Post

A Poem by Sara Henry Heistand
"

Rondeau me!

"

We’re all against the heartbreak leaning post,

The attention’s dull to keep; we’re opposed

To giving up, the unquestioned marvels

When we’re all in need of plurals

And equally we’re not really supposed.

But at what time will we be trained to roost?

When the stubble turns up, or bosoms boost,

Or shall we wait until we unravel,

When we’re all against heartbreak leaning post?

My decisions keep, my reasons I boast,

I just stay far and look at what I wrote.

But do we wait ‘til away we’re carried?

Looked once, I had seen a smile so rare, grasped

My mind loose and of it we made the most;

We’re all attracted to heartbreak leaning post.
