oblivion

A Poem by Sara Henry Heistand
"

Free-verse, basically.

"

I’m running out of songs to play because they’re on a constant repeat repeat that blows the mind to OBLIVION and since it’s OBLIVION there’s no coming back and then what should I do since when there’s no coming back then I can’t discover what made me listen in the first place, but I have a conclusion in the back of my head that’s trading these awesome guitar licks for some heavy handed keyboard kicks that twist me inside outside dubbing me rubbing me the right effing way ‘cause love is a term but adore is a sentence and back to my conclusion that I made up all by myself all by myself because I’m a little girl with a esquire voice, training to be in Olympus while the party’s down here and s**t I lost my train of thought again but here it is, my big conclusion, the reason I listen again again again to the music of the decade that swings back on its rocker and kicks me in the head rocking rolling until the break of OBVILIVION but it’s gone again because do I need a reason to love harmony melody poetic expression a beat a verb in assonance with the syllable but f**k that because I have a beat a verb right here, baby, and I call it OBLIVION.
