Sad Inside Family?A Story by Solis-Lopezuh huh..."Hey, wait a damn second, what the hell are you doing?!" I pushed open the door and ran out into the muggy air. It had just stopped raining and the sun was making a feeble attempt at peeking through the clouds. I could see rainbows struggling to pop up out of the flooding street in front of me. Then the sun gave up and the rainbows disappeared. Why I even let myself into that house, I will never understand. I kept on walking even though the mud and water was up to my ankles and my rain boots were starting to go from shiny and bright purple to mud covered boots. Why, oh why, oh FREAKING WHY?! Man I really suck at this. "HELLO?!" the voice behind me made my head jerk up and my spine nearly freeze. I turned around, ready to send muddy rain water flying into his face when I stopped and realized it was his brother. Why did they have to sound alike sometimes? "What?" I asked, stopping. "Did he start throwing a hissy fit or something?" "Pretty much yeah," "Typical little brat," "You're only three years older than him you dork," "I know, and so are you," I looked him straight in the eyes. "So why are you out here barefoot in a flooding street trying to get me to go back inside?" He opened his mouth to reply but just as soon shut it, slightly blushing. I smiled. "If you're out here to get me inside, don't bother trying." I started turning around but he grabbed my arm and we both nearly fell into the mud-water we were standing in. "Hello?!" I said, mimicking him. I stood us both back upright and looked at him confused. "Look, your brother is annoying as hell and I'm not going to even consider going out with him if he's going to be a pervert almost twenty-four/seven." "I know, he can be an a*s," he said. "I'm not making you go back inside because of him though." I blinked, catching the hidden meaning like a thrown valentine's candy. Which it almost was in a manner of speaking. I smiled, and shook his hand off my arm. "If you're lying to me," I warned playfully. "I will just walk right on home." He smiled back and we turned around to the house. Once inside I practically ordered him to go wash his feet thoroughly before he got something similar to trench foot. His brother was now sulking in his room like the dumb idiot he was, meaning I could go back to watching the TV like I had initially been. Ok, I think I remember why I let myself say I was going to help babysit his brother...why I was bothering to even enter this house. I thought as the anime in front of my started flashing different colors for some character's outrageous transformation. I swear one kid in the world has had a seizure because of scenes like this. The better of the brothers came out of the bathroom with socks on and sat down next to me. "I probably shouldn't be apologizing for my brother's near-groping incident with you, but I am," he said and I almost started laughing. "Honestly, why are you apologizing?" I asked him. "Because no one is around much anymore to teach him any better," he said, looking down at the floor depressed. "I wish I was still here but I'm making the money for college and school and stuff so...yeah. It's embarrassing when we know that he does something stupid and we could have taught him much better or something along those lines." I patted him on the back. "Ah, don't worry. I have the same damn problem." "You do, don't you?" he smiled sadly. "Yep," I replied. "But that's life. With what time we are around these idiots I suppose we should teach them as much as we can. Or something cheesy like that." © 2008 Solis-LopezAuthor's Note
