To Thus Remember TheeA Poem by The Half-blood PoetA love poem for someone I used to love...Thus
I met thee, and thus I shall remember thee… For
thou were an Angel arrived from some wondrous tale; Heaven's
answer, perhaps, to my prayer for Love, my voiceless plea, And
my dreams -- upon restless waters haunted by thy Beauty -- took sail. Thus
I loved thee, and thus I love thee still… For
thy warm and loving face, thy enchanting eyes, did bind me so: Shackles
of Beauty and chains of Hope suppress my will, Yet
to see thee again I would endure endless pain and woe. Thus
I yearn for thee; alas, Fate wills it not, And
for all the Love I pour out to thee, thou must give none back; Though
thou may be the treasure by my Heart most sought, Thou
must be the Joy I must forever lack. Thy
laugh, the song of Angels, I wish to hear; thy smile, the blaze of stardust, I wish
to see; Yet
for Love or naught, my Life is to thus remember thee. © 2020 The Half-blood PoetAuthor's Note
