If Walls Had EarsA Poem by AngelstearsThe things I hear, the things I see. If only you knew that I could hear you; surely you would not talk so freely? Surely you would be more reserved? -Oh the things I have seen the stories I could tell. Time passes yet I remain. I hear the laughter and the joy. I hear the moans of pleasure, the sighs of delight stolen in the night. The heartfelt compliments, the irritated complaints " two-faced! I hear the screams, the rage, and the arguments. I hear the tears, the sobs, and the cries. Time passes yet I remain. You are in pain, heartbroken, you feel my sympathy; look straight at me, no-one is there; you are alone. But I am here, ever present. I watch you as you live your life, I watch you as you sleep but can never protect you. Time passes yet I remain. © 2012 Angelstears |
