The Dance of Achilles and Phoebe

The Dance of Achilles and Phoebe

A Poem by A. J. Kingsley
"

Achilles means 'pain', Phoebe means 'bright, pure'. This is how I visualized my desire to self harm and my need to stop.

"
Achilles drags her to the floor as Phoebe tries to ground him. He twists and turns about the room while Phoebe spins around him.

Oh how they dance, those loving two who hate each other most.

Achilles' lines run straight and true, his grip and steps are strong. Phoebe wrestles with his grasp, she fights to prove him wrong.

They struggle on, the pair of them, she tries to drag him down.

Achilles moves around the room while Phoebe stays at peace. The two must dance and Phoebe asks "When will the static cease?".

I don't really know what I'm looking for. Feedback is always lovely but more than anything I think I just needed to have it out there.
