There's something about a simple short piece that appears like it has little to say yet there's immense depth when you look at it more. I did actually read this at 2AM and it was a hell of a treat. In between the lines comes to mind when I read this. Your car, when I read, seems like it could be figurative. Car being you. You're almost out of gas. Ready to sleep? Them, well, they're about to crash in a drunk driving accident... and you're about to sleep. That's how I feel from this. A simple night's sleep and someone you know is about to have a tragedy, or you're in your own car and we could be waiting for the inevitable collision for both parties. There's a beautifully done simplicity of capturing the monumental moments of life like this. One person is about to sleep, one person is about to crash yet neither knows that tragedy is about to happen; as the unexpected takes us in its cruel suddenness. Loved this.
