Painful Dreams

Painful Dreams

A Poem by A. Highly. Addictive. Substance.

"Painful Dreams"

Blasted miles from the earth,
Where nobody is there to catch me,
Dreaming dreams so real, they hurt,
Love is a game I've failed in, sadly,
Shattered like our favorite picture,
Fallen swiftly from the shelf,
The sun stunningly reflecting,
Off of the shattered glass within my hand,
A bitter beauty blinds my eyes,
And stings the soul I try to hide,
With no escape that can refresh,
These scarred up wounds throughout the flesh,
Resurrection comes only from her voice,
But not even a whisper is heard,
Haunted by her mere reflection,
I'm dreaming dreams so real, they hurt.
