Thoughts Of An Insomniac

Thoughts Of An Insomniac

A Poem by A. Highly. Addictive. Substance.

"Thoughts of an Insomniac"

Nightmares attack while I'm awake,
The silence eats away at my thoughts,
I shiver at the thought of what will be,
Once the shutters of my vision are closed.

Instead, I stare blanky into the darkness,
Counting spiders on the walls,
If only I could catch my prey,
These nights wouldn't be so long.

What do you do while I'm awake,
Now that we walk on separate roads?
Will you cross this bridge I've made,
Or continue to walk alone?
