An Opaque Reality

An Opaque Reality

A Poem by A. Highly. Addictive. Substance.

"An Opaque Reality"

We both hold our smiles,
So close and so dear,
We both try to see past,
The steam covered mirror,
Wiping it clean only reveals,
Much to our distress,
What we've refused to believe,
Is the result of the love we once had,
Shouting matches and blunt offenses,
Tears running down your cheek,
Name calling and a countdown timer,
We stare blankly at our opaque reality,
Frozen by the truth, left speechless by the scene,
Wishing back that steam,
Knowing just like our love,
This mirror will never again be clean.

Very vivide, and very will placed words. Great job on this poem, very nicely done. A mirror shows many things, sometimes its best not to see until you are certian the mirror reviels what you want. I myself use mirror for a metaphore representing everyones minds. Mirrors only look foward, or what is placed in front of them, a broken mirror can about anything, except whats forward, because its distorted.
