A Poem by A. Highly. Addictive. Substance.

"Ten to the End"

I live my life between midnight and 12:01,
I live yours by 12:02,
I blink one thousand times by 12:03,
By 12:04, I will be no more.

I stand anticipating war,
Shield and sword by my side,
But this battle's only casaulties,
Are self-inflicted wounds caused by pride.

At 12:05 my world is dark,
An Armageddon of the soul,
And 12:06 bears the light,
A new Kingdom to call Home.

Defeated by an enemy,
No crystal ball could predict,
In blood's reflection lies a glimpse,
Of this self-conceived foe in the mist.

12:07 holds the key,
That 12:08 can only see,
But at 12:09, I shall resign,
As 12:10 floats above me.
