You Will Live On

Written for my Grandfather after his death.

"You Will Live On"

If this paper sees the only tears I shed,
I assure you that my heart will forever weep.

A life to be only carried on by memories,
These pictures in our minds will never fade,
And so you will live on.

If only the shadows know my pain,
I assure you that my heart will forever ache.

A loss to leave the most vocal unspoken,
This silence bears the screams of agony,
And so you will live on.

If my actions contain my only release,
I assure you that my ways will make you proud.

A life to be only celebrated by laughter,
These will be the most difficult smiles of our lives,
But you will always live on.
