I’m home!” My mother called as she walked into the house. I
used to go out and talk to her when she got home, but that was before Ethan
went to high school and became the star child. Nowadays he was all she cared
about.
“Hello? Anybody home?” She yelled down the hall. My mother was beautiful. She
had the same gold hair as Ethan, and the same eyes. She was tall and skinny,
and used to be in beauty pageants as a teenager. She walked into my room
wearing a pencil skirt, a blazer and black high heels. The outfit was so plain,
yet it looked straight off the runway on her.
“Hey, sweetie. Have you seen your brother? I talked to someone at work that has
a job offer for him.”
“No, he left earlier.” I said trying to forget about our fight.
“Are you okay honey? You seem upset.”
I looked at her surprised that she even noticed “Uhmm…yeah. Actually Ethan and
I had a fight earlier.” I said feeling my lip quiver
“Oh, is that why he left? It’s okay. He’ll be home soon and you guys will be
laughing and have forgotten about this by tomorrow.” She smiled showing her
copy paper white teeth.
“I’m going to hit the hay. I’m kind of tired, okay?” I said, while rubbing my
eyes for emphasis.
She nodded. “I’m going to cook some chicken for your father and me when he gets
home. If you get hungry, come on out.”
I got into my favorite pajamas, the soft ones with the polka dots on them and
threw on a Silverstein concert t-shirt. I looked in the mirror at myself. I was
disgusted with what I saw. My black eyeliner was smudged, my face was pale, and
my hair was worse than usual. I wore it teased all over but right now it looked
like I had been shocked by an electrical outlet. I sighed and got into my bed.
Hi,
I'm Claudia. I'm really not the best writer (Im far from it). I hate punctuation, I never know where to put it.But, I love to write and that's all that matters.I'm kind of shy until we hang for a.. more..
