A Poem by Amant Cache
"

I can't think of a title for this. I know it's a bit of a wreck, but so was I when I wrote it.

"

Agony and self defeat

Cracked hearts and calloused feet

Days go by and I retreat

Into my mind of doubt and grief

You don’t call me by my name

You don’t know my hidden shame

You say you’re love will never stray

But don’t you know that’s what all men say?

Show me a love that lasts for ages

Not just words…written on pages…

I’ll show you my innermost soul

I’ll bare my heart for you to hold

And perhaps the clouds will lift awhile

Long enough for you to see my smile

Until again you take your leave

And once again, I fall to pieces.

Nice write. Hopefully this isn't aimed at all men given that you believe "that's what all men say..." But I'll continue reading.....
