Green Eyed Man

Green Eyed Man

A Poem by Amant Cache

I watch you sitting there

Little man, pen in hand

With your jade eyes to the world

You tell anyone walking by

Tales of old ones

Long winded green eyed man

Fur trimmed coat, pen in hand

You write your stories

Ink smudge on your finger tips

The wind blows cold

And you don't notice

That the time passes slow

Tick and tock and days go by

And still you write with pen in hand

The leaves have turned, red and gold

Shivering branches and rosy cheeks

A green eyed man with pen in hand

Writes the world a song

Of days gone by, hope and new beginnings

Like looking through a looking glass

He writes us into our story, tongue in cheek and pen in hand.

Please tell me where this man is? I'd like to meet him ...

but seriously, this is quite a masterpiece. I can see you put a lot of effort into it (either that or you're just extremely talented!) and it reminds me of a piece of art, carefully and lovingly written. I reread it and it made me shiver a little. Each word is so perfect in its place.

--Could not be any better.

Oh my gosh. This is amazing and beautiful and breathtaking.
Every line of this poem was so...poetic and as soon as I read the first line, I could tell that this poem was going to be one of my favorites.
I love your descriptions, and I love (especially) the last stanza.
This should be published somewhere.
Amazing job.

Ink smudge on your fingertips...
Shivering branches and rosy cheeks...
These and other lines contain beautiful images. I like the mysterious tone that pervades the whole thing, and the last line--the fact that he is writing our stories--is nice. Good job.
