Great rhymes I'm not to sure what Romeos and Juliets on hamster wheels means but it sounds good.

I intended to paint a picture of lovers running in place, going no where.

Its common to put your pet mouse, hamster etc. in a cage with a wheel for them to run on, for exercise. They can run and run and run, but remain in place, wheel spinning beneath them.
