Welcome to the Big Top where your fears come alive as we enter your mind and cause you to go into deep paranoia. Once you enter your fears and nightmares become a reality. On a dark foggy night a couple were driving past the old carnival grounds on their way back from their honeymoon when they noticed a sign that read :”WELCOME TO THE CARNIVAL OF NIGHTMARES”. The couple entered the grounds where there were circus tents set up. A shape ran across and the woman jumped. “What was that”’ she said as she held on to her husband’s arm”. “It was probably a cat or a dog”. Out of a big red tent a shadow of a finger signaled to the man to come in. “Honey I will be right back you just stay out here”. The man went into the tent where a dark figure was sitting in the corner. “Hello”, said the man as he went closer to the figure. “Sit down”, said the figure in a low hissing voice. Just then the figure began placing tarot cards down on the table. His fingernails were long and dirty except one with a sharp silver piece on one finger. There were weird pictures on the cards one had a picture of a bloody scythe, the second one had a picture of death, and the third card had a picture of the devil on it. “So what’s my future”? “The figure leaned across the table and said “YOU DON’T HAVE ONE”!He then laughed evilly the guy tried to make a run for it a dark shadowy figure appeared and grabbed the man. “No, let me go”. Suddenly there was a scream outside the tent. Then a man and a woman had the guy’s wife by the arms. “Let us go you freak”. “Thank you, the name’s Freak Show by the way. I’m sad to say that you and your wife won’t be surviving this night because you set foot on grounds you were not even suppose to cross. Oh well, I guess I’m afraid I’m going to have to kill you”. Then the shade pulled out a scythe and slaughtered the poor man and woman. There bodies were found hanging from a tree and nobody knows what happened to their car. The police began their search and came across what appeared to be a card with an evil clown on it.

“We interrupt your program to bring you an urgent news report. Earlier this morning bodies of a young married couple were found slaughtered and hung from a tree on the dirt road past the old carnival grounds. Reporters say that the murderer got away and appeared to have left a clue. The clue that was found at the scene of the crime was this card with what appears to be an evil clown. If you see this card anywhere notify the police at once for we may be dealing with a something strange as the murderer has left no other evidence. Thank You that is all”. “Can you believe that these reporters are coming up with this cheesy story of a couple getting murdered”, said Steve as he turned the T.V off. “Well the part of the couple getting murdered is true”, said his wife. “Melissa told me that when she was driving that way from her mother’s house, she said there were cops, ambulance’s there, and reporters”. “Well did she say what the cause of the murders were”? “She didn’t say all she said was that on some nights you could here creepy carnival music as if there was a Gothic circus was going on”. “A Gothic circus, now Margaret that’s got to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard”. “Anyways, I better get the kids down here or they’ll be late for school”. “Kids, get down here or you miss your bus”. “Oh no, young lady you are not wearing that to school go upstairs and change”, said Steve. “Dad it’s a fashion statement”, said Lisa . “Well no daughter of mine is going to school dressed like Morticia now go upstairs and change right now”. Lisa rolled her eyes at her dad and grabbed her breakfast and walked out the door ignoring her dad. “Honey I think she looks fine a lot of kids dress like that and I think if she wants to dress like she’s going to a funeral then that I’m fine with that she’s just expressing herself”. Then Aaron and George the twins came downstairs grabbed their toast and ran out the door.

“Lisa wait up”, said Erica as she walked towards her. “I was wondering if you wanted to come over after school and do something”? “I can’t, I’m sure my parents are going on a date tonight”. “Girl, we never get to do anymore”. “Well what did you have in mind Erica”? “Check out this flyer that came in our mailbox”, said Erica as she showed it to Lisa. On the flyer was the picture of a evil clown and at the top was “THE CARNIVAL OF NIGHTMARES OPEN FROM NOW UNTIL THE NIGHT OF HALLOWEEN.HERE WE HAVE PERFORMING THE DEADLY DUO VLAD AND AGOSHA, THE MAXWELL THE MANIACAL MIME, SELENA THE ANIMAL TAMER, AND MADAME OCTA THE MISTRESS OF ALL CREEPY CRAWLEYS. SO COME TO OUR FREE SHOW,BECAUSE ON HALLOWEEN WE ARE HAVING OUR GRAND FINALE THAT ONLY THE RING MASTER KNOWS. SO HURRY, HURRY, HURRY”. “That’s it no address or anything”, asked Lisa. “Hey I know where that is”, said Monica as she came towards her friends. “That is on the old Carnival Grounds, my mom drives that way all the time to visit my grandma”. “Wait I heard on the news that’s where they found that dead couple”. Lisa and Erica looked at each other and then Lisa said; “Then I don’t think we should go if there was a murder there I think we should just go to the movies”. “Then what was the point of even showing you this flyer if your not interested”. “I’m interested”, said Monica with a smile. “Come on let’s at least check it out I mean it’s a free show what’s going to happen. I mean it’s not like your parents are going to make you babysit cause aren’t your brothers going over to Chris and Timmy’s house for a camp out”? “Yeah, I’ll think about it. Right now we should get to school”.

Lisa was putting books in her locker when her boyfriend Chris came up to her. “Lisa, we need to talk. Why didn’t you call me back last night”? “I was busy, and I needed time to myself after all you stood me up for our date and what so you could go out with your friends”. “Lisa, I texted you that I couldn’t go but I guess you don’t get text messages either”. “No, I got it I just deleted it”, said Lisa as she walked to class. “Lisa, come on that is cold you know I’m sorry”. “I have to go, and I am going out with Erica, and Monica and we’re having a girls night out”. Lisa walked into her class and sat next to Erica. “What was that all about”? “Just don’t worry about it, he wanted to talk and so we talked about him standing me up”. The teacher came into the room and placed his brief case on his desk. “Alright everyone please take your seats and take out your text books”.
