Hands Down

Hands Down

A Poem by Mandi

I totally like you, kind of like road kill.

Maybe next time you'll beat me down.

Maybe next time you'll up and drown.

I see the pretty petite flowers dancing in the basket.

I see the menacing man's body lying in the casket.

Hands down, man up.

You're nothing.

You're nothing but a sick sadistic f**k.

It is amazing how much raw emotion you put into each of these lines. I enjoyed the sarcasm and the rhyming dichotomies near the beginning. My favourite parts are the fourth and five lines, because I like the antithesis of beautiful flowers in a basket and a corpse in a casket. It is a brilliant rhyme. I have no suggestions for improvement here.

Neurotically yours,

This is an interesting one. I think this will take a few reads to truly grasp. A sign of a good poem.

Direct and honest words. I liked them. The tone of the poem was dislike and powerful words of the truth. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
