don't let me pretend this moment isn't too tiring.A Poem by G. CedilloHer full weight balances gracefully on my nervous knee. I remember perfectly that motionless pull her aroma offered, her hair draws me in a quiet trance - keep back, who's the snake charmer here? She talks to our friends nearby, none surprised by her actions, alighting like this on me, none upset or making excuses, explaining - yet, I am a victim of a joke, misunderstanding? No. The vision is too real to ignore, she skims the waters without the tiniest fray of her dress touching. I am too close to the flame. Her wonderfully long swarthy tides, a raging ocean clapping waves against the steer of my hand at night, and her back, a protective door I sit behind - a moment more and I'd embrace her, my arm around her waist, but who knows - i don't think i'll figure out this thing, the exquisite timing of life, a friend takes her away, "come see this," or other -- the mystery is still there, the impression of my rumpled clothes, my rumpled wrinkled heart, its been used - the slender following of my eyes as she walks away. © 2013 G.
