Good-bye

The douchebag that I wrote this for didn't even deserve it in the end...

As he walks out the door,

she feels her heart break.

The move was too soon,

and she was too late.

The tears fall down her cheeks

as she whispers what's true.

Those 4 simple words:

"I've always loved you"

 

His eyes fill with surprise

as hers fill with tears.

She waits for his response,

heart heavy with fear.

 

He looks at his feet

isn't sure what to say

"I'm sorry" she mumbles

and begins to walk away.

 

"Wait!" he murmers

she turns back around.

She looks into his eyes,

love is quickly found.

 

"I've waited so long

for this exact day.

But I waited too long,

and my chance slipped away."

 

It really sucks that this life

most always moves way too fast.

We live in the moments

that are lost in the past.

 

He holds out his arms

holds onto her tight.

"I've been waiting my life

for this one special night."

 

"Please don't go." she begs

"I don't want to let go"

"But I have to" he says

saying what they both know.

 

Holding onto each other,

neither are sure what to do.

He swallows his tears and

and softly murmers "Love you too".
