I am

I am

A Poem by Marla

I am curious and headstrong

I wonder if it’s worth reading for so long

I hear my brain telling me to learn more
I see the gore that is my head on the floor
I want to visit places where I don’t belong

I am curious and headstrong

I pretend that I know everything

I feel the weight of books under my wing

I touch the face of perspicacity

I worry if my agility will reach its capacity

I cry to the sky whenever I am wrong
I am curious and headstrong

I understand that I am ignorant and young
I say things in conceit, never minding my tongue
I dream about conquering the opaque world
I try to unravel their minds from vagueness, to unfurl
I hope that my impact is extended and long

I am just too curious and headstrong
