THE LONELY WITHERING ROSE

THE LONELY WITHERING ROSE

A Poem by Rich

smiles are feigned when happiness is an impossibility
with so few positives in life a person must keep his humility
for despite his abilities nothing seems to go his way
nothing ever goes right, try and fight as hard as he may
reminiscing about his days as an adolescent
how he put himself in perpetual pain which left a permanent impression
hes made his mistakes and prays he has learned his lesson
and prays that the days of his past dont plague the present
he doesnt know where he is or where he is going
doesnt know where to turn and its hard to move without knowing
hes lost in this world, alone, despite the people surrounding him
scared and cold like the lonely withering rose in the howling wind

This is absolutely beautiful and perfect- quite possibly the best work of art that I have read! I love it. I love the words. I love the flow. I love the connection. I like how it shows the pain of a past and how it leaks into the present and also future. I feel this piece will be one that is forever relevant because it deals with the basics of an average person's life in such a way as to be proclaimed extraordinary. Keep up the great work. You're going to go far.
