Flowering Trees

Flowering Trees

A Poem by Whispering Pines
"

This is a poem that I wrote during school one day in early spring. There is a kind of tree whose flowers are whispy and white. They are what inspired me.

"
I peer from prison-like windowed glass
Caught in the fleeting beauty
Of the whiting windswept blossom
Beckoning, they whisper to me,
Abandon duty, come with us,
To the world where darkness is light
And the sky is made of flowers

I like this poem, especially how you invoke the feeling of being trapped in somewhere and seeing the loveliness outside - something that happens to everyone at school or work or anywhere!

I especially liked the lines:
"I peer from prison-like windowed glass
Caught in the fleeting beauty
Of the whiting windswept blossom"

Very well written. Great job! :)
