Those Who Feared The Insane Part One

Those Who Feared The Insane Part One

A Chapter by NathanGarnder

Day Before Trial

Night falls over the dark and stormy building. The house was built for three.

A mother, caring housewife, supportive mother, and glorious wife,

A father, a hard worker, perfect role model, and lovely husband.

A child, girl or boy, has grown to be a perfect citizen.

He blinks again, wondering what happened.

Perfect models of society.

Perfect.

He reads the note in his hand.

Pretend you don’t know.

He puts the note back in his pocket and walks down the street.

He lived with his parents, up until his 20th birthday. He had been arranged to marry already, and was ordered by these instructions ever since birth…

  • Be a perfect child who listens and pays attention

  • Know the fundamentals of education and our society

  • Be a role model for younger children and respect your elders

  • Do not forget to be perfect

This list over and over again. The codes brainwashed him, basic procedures on how to be perfect. This would all feel normal for him, he wouldn’t have trouble living like this if he was told at a young age. But he was different than most people.

He could dream.

Most people couldn’t, slumber just being a bottomless pit of emptiness until woken up by the town alarm. Others took medicine for their dreams, some had a piece of machinery placed in their minds to stop their dreams. But he never told anyone. He was silent, uncommon for most people, and kept his thoughts in his head. He never shared his thoughts, never told anyone his troubles. He lived in a world of his own.

That's why he was summoned for the trials.
