From Knee to YouA Poem by GCA little song I wrote for a class back in high school
After the support I’ve given you? Throughout your life I’ve always been there Think of the experiences that we shared I brought you home when it was dark Frolicked with you in the park I took you wherever you needed to go But never did your gratitude show I don’t mean to cause you any pain But I feel I cared for you in vain Never did you consider that you mistreated me Took me for granted knowing… I’ll always be your knee Don’t you see that I meant well? Then you went and tore your ACL My sense of duty for you was so pure Now I’m rheumatic and there is no cure I bent to suit your needs But you scraped me till I started to bleed I wish you’d understand Your care is all I demand I’ll let you land on me when you fall Let you bang me against the wall To let anyone harm me would be treason God put us together for reason I don’t mean to cause you any pain But I feel like I took care of you in vain Never did you consider that you mistreated me Took me for granted knowing… I’ll always be your knee
