The Hall

The Hall

A Poem by the_kate

Groups float around me.

They silently taunt me.

Remind me I don’t belong.

I’m stared at.

They wonder, why is she alone?

Nobody stops to ask.

I feel the tears coming.

I duck into a bathroom, command myself to stop.

But I can’t.

I can’t keep it in any longer.

But I have to.

Just get to class.

I come back out, my cheeks damp.

Nobody asks what’s wrong.

Why would they?

I’m nobody.

You know what... I can relate to this feeling so very well... Its just so touching and beautiful... That's why I wear this mask on my face, which lies and shows to everyone that I am happy all the time... That keeps me happy too... Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem... Great work...
