Release

Release

A Poem by The High Poet

 Release

Holding on to anger and and hate

Killing you slowly that's your fate

You push it down deep inside

Swallowing it up, just like your pride

Your heart may attack, your blood may clot

All of that resentment, for a forgive me Knot

****

You must learn how to forgive

If you truly want to live

Cut away the stress in your life

Before your truck and trailer jackknifes

Pardon those who have wronged you

Then your life will really start anew

****

When your release your loathing

Your bottle will stop loading

Then you will find a new way to live

No longer bogged down by the life you lived

This probably is my favorite so far. It is full of hope that it's not too late. Some of the rhymes shound a little forced, but overall very nice. Nice job! Keep it up!

I think, in the second stanza,
"Then your life will really start a new" you mean "anew"? I think that would make more sense. Other than that, I find no other fault with this. :3
I like it a lot, really!
I wish more people would realize that holding on to anger and all that, it does nothing for you but make everything worse.
Great job!

Nice piece. This one is very short but the mixing of the words and the metaphor is quite effective. I had a nice read. :)

You're natural talent keeps finding ways to put into words what I haven't or can't. Another great piece of art. Well done.
