Guilty of Black MagicA Poem by theOsiePosie
Without a man
Bound to insignificance Like a repelling magnet Alone and unloved My companion was my sister My sister was struck by the plague I was the one to cure her But my mind was not a home for knowledge Nor was it capable of torture But her life flying to paradise Labelled me dammed by the devil I was accused of black magic My home wanted my life So I ran for clear skies But the skies were chased by clouds They hunted me down And captured my being My being became their toy My blood was stolen Through their vile scratches But to their eyes I was not clean My soul was not pure So it was drowned But it knew how to swim They put me behind iron Trapped, alone and unloved I waited to be put below grass They let me free With their hands around my throat But their strength was poor I was just breathing But that was enough To be put to fire Knotted to the stake Surrounded by straw Lit from all angles My life was engulfed by flames I could not rescue myself Because I was not a witch. © 2013 theOsiePosieAuthor's Note
