lonely or aloneA Poem by Stephen CrowA poem for the lonesomeLonely or alone? I gaze up at my deep blue ceiling Hoping one might find me I search for what I’ve seen before It cannot be behind me Am I lonely or alone? I crash and scream for all to hear But can’t be spared a second glance I save myself and cage my soul ‘cause I cant afford to take the chance Am I lonely or alone? I witness wasted chances As would be loves pass by Alone is how I’ve always been And for this I will not cry Solitude defines me But lust reminds me Standing apart empowers me But the lone heart sours me Alone is me Because I chose alone But loneliness has found me Am I lonely or alone? © 2014 Stephen Crow |
