The True Enemy of Peace

The True Enemy of Peace

A Poem by Ryan M. James

False-self actualization triggered psychologically by means of consumptive behavioral manipulation is the worlds greatest threat to true peace and prosperity.

Our modern, ego driven, society is founded on completely absurd notions that devalue ideas such as sustainable energy, intellectual and spiritual enrichment and the importance of environmental protection, whole promoting false assurances that happiness and prestige are gained through material obtainment.

Our evolutionary survival techniques have been replaced with gadgets that do little to enrich our lives, while media manipulation and social conditioning make it increasingly harder to distinguish between 'want' and 'need'.

We fill voids within ourselves with short-lived stimuli that do nothing more than to increase the feelings of anxiety and lack of worth that so many are burdened with.

True happiness comes from within, it comes from the removal of deceptive and conditioned beliefs that "possession leads to fulfillment".
