Forgive us not

Forgive us not

A Poem by Ryan M. James

"And as we lay down our arms we see another page turned at the end of this bloody and cold battle, the dotted line signed... the echoes of what we have done, forever haunting, never ceasing.

Then shall we dwell within our forefathers remorse, and stained by guilt, now hiding in the shadows of our children's eyes.
Imagine all we could have accomplished had it not been for the unquenchable thirst for power of those wolves in sheep's clothing, those perishable fools ordained by us, those that we chose, the leaders of the so called 'free world'.

Again it seems a lesson learned to late as we see coming the cold dusk of our time, the righteous suffering upon themselves the shame of our deeds.
How vain that we would beg their forgiveness, hands clenched grasping for what is left of this red dirt. Forgive us not, for we knew exactly what we did."
