Handshake

I'm Maddie and I'm your typical sixteen year old girl. 

I'm going to use this writerscafe account as a place to just record any emotions I feel or any experiences that I have or my opinions on events, etc, in a journal-like style.

I thought I'd write this post just to give you a little bit of background information, mainly so you can see where I'm coming from when I do write about personal things.

I live in a small town in Essex and I attend a high school sixth form. I work in a laser arena and I study music, history, psychology and English language and literature. I've had s**t experiences in the past, but hey, who hasn't? I know how it feels to feel as insignificant and unwelcome as possible and I also know how it feels to be absolutely at peace with the world. My family mean the world to me and so does my dog. I play the violin and I probably get distracted a little too easily. I enjoy listening to music and I like upbeat music with a lot of acoustic guitars involved. My hair is dip-dyed and my favorite food is Italian. I'm practically blind without my glasses, so I'm really grateful that contact lenses were invented. I wish I lived in Paris and I read too many romantic books, because, let's face it, it's easier reading about someone else's relationships than sorting out your own. I have a tortoise. I like pretty things and over-sized cardigans. My favorite season is autumn. Dedication is the key to success and working hard in life gets you places. Pimms o'Clock is my favorite time of day and live music is the dogs bollocks. I'm not very good with words or writing because I don't have that natural ability to just make words sound pretty once on paper, so you'll have to bare with me.

That's just a basic introduction and there's lots and lots more about me to discover that I don't feel comfortable writing online to a bunch of strangers just yet, but it will probably all come out in due time.
