Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by thatemogirl16

The pain makes the heart race even slower that it should

You just want it all to end

A shot gun, your mom’s pills, the rusty old razor that just sits in your drawer?

Your brain nudges you on as if your own family harassing you all the time

As you reach for the pills, you hear something in the atmosphere

It feels as if it’s a part of you

Music

Your favorite song flows through your left ear and out the other

You retract your fingers off the orange tinted pill bottle

Saving your heartbeat from stopping permanently

The heart and mind begin to go to sleep for a long while

You take a slow deep breath as the eyes become weighted

Sleep welcomes you
