A Poem by Cas

She dropped you in the sea
with weights chained to
your ankles and demanded
you swim to shore.
They pinned you to the ground
and demanded you to run.
He stitched your mouth shut,
but demanded you sing.
They call you stupid,
but dream you a scholar.
They whip your back with
words and knives but you're
told to listen and love and hope
and trust;
so here you stand,
drinking in all the toxins.

Constantly being stifled by peoples wants and needs of us. The demands that get thrown at us while we are being kept captive. Excellent write.. this is a great write..

Hello, everyone! I'm Casee, a poet along the east coast. I often find my days reminiscing of what could have been, and what could be, while drowning myself in the musical talent of others. I hope you .. more..
