She dropped you in the sea
with weights chained to your ankles and demanded you swim to shore. They pinned you to the ground and demanded you to run. He stitched your mouth shut, but demanded you sing. They call you stupid, but dream you a scholar. They whip your back with words and knives but you're told to listen and love and hope and trust; so here you stand, drinking in all the toxins. © 2017 Cas |
