I like the question you ask here. Who told this lie about the nature of love? When we feel we must certainly die without the comfort of our desire, then we have indeed found an ending.
Why not live and fight for every breath to feed the living memory of our love? This fatalistic view of what romance is and what love must do to our soul is a lie.
True love, unselfish love, other focused love, will only ever build us up and support life.
It is interesting to me to see even in Christian cultures we glorify death as an expression of love. This can be true, only if a sacrifice would grant life to another. Never as a pathway to soothe our pain in the loss of our love or desires.
This poem leads the mind into a maze of thought. I love it!

A very thoughtful piece. It lets you in and then keeps you there. I loved it.
I like Shakespeare too.

I really do love the words, and questions, you give us readers here, Kenaz, there is much between the lines, to figure out, yet to feel.... I think to die for another is beautiful, if you choose, the exact reason why, and vice versa... two can die perfectly... if they'd prefer.
Life is full of moments, and we just know exactly what we miss until it's gone, and we wished we died before together.... for that's rather softening the pain than what's left....
Brilliant piece.

You deserve those, you give reflection too.... no, thank you K.
Love was not created in a day. Nice! Not for kings and queens, it was created for us the poor player. That is good! Yes, if only we could have that one day back. Then our ending could be happy! Love it! Thanks for sharing!

What a great piece! I totally agree with A.Amos on that, your writing is really elegant. Reading it comes with this smooth atmosphere which is hard for me to describe.
"If only we could have that one day back,
The moment when we knew,
We would die for her,
We would die for him,
Then our ending could be happy,
all over again."
I feel like you chose the best way to end this poem, I'm really impressed. Great work, friend!
