The midnight hour draws near.The coastal town of MooresHead Bay is quiet and in deep slumber.A mysterious fog forms offshore.An eerie presence remains hidden in the white blanket of mist.Invisible and gaining momentum as it approaches city limits. In a matter of minutes, the fog advances to the downtown area and into every neighborhood block. Glowing street lamps are suddenly extinguished. Barking dogs are silenced. The fog shatters windows and finds its way inside of homes including through the small openings of locked doors.

And then.. the quiet of night is disrupted by the echoes of violent screams from every house in town...

The media coverage grows by the day from every country around the globe.MooresHead Bay is the center of attention worldwide. Days following the night of the fog, every citizen in town has disappeared.Over one thousand people, vanished.

Unbeknownst to police authorities and investigative reporters, is an indistinguishable sycamore tree standing In plain sight. Carved underneath its branches is one word...

I love the feeling it evokes. Would you consider expanding it into a longer story? Roanoke is fascinating and I love the idea of another mysterious vanishing town in modern times that is connected to that one.
