LONE WOLF

LONE WOLF

A Poem by KCthelastboyscout
"

even animals need the company of others

"
Once, part of a family
Now, separated from the pack
A long, lost journey continues

Winter is no longer imminent, it is here
The ground is covered by a blanket of snow
The lone wolf is a scavenger
Roaming the land in search of food and shelter
But more importantly, companionship

These have been lonely travels
An outcast in wilderness
A solitary predator guided by natural Instincts
Every direction of his journey becomes further away from others like his kind
Day turns into night and the moon and stars appear
The wolf loudly howls in agony and despair
There is no response...
...so far away from.home

the lines flow really well and the imagery is vivid. a very sad, but deep metaphor I think people can relate to.

I think you have struck a good balance, your poem gives life to a wilderness setting, that mirror man's eternal struggle with loneliness.
